The Breaking of Bread

I decided to go to BBC for multiple reasons, but they boil down to two main ideas: I love God and I love people. I want God to always be the center of my existence, and I know that the only worthwhile things in this life are seeking to know Him better and telling others about who He is and what He’s done. Boise Bible College’s mission statement says that the school “glorifies God by equipping student leaders who build up the church to advance the gospel worldwide.” I’ve known all my life that this is what I want to be: equipped so the Holy Spirit can advance the Kingdom through me. The environment here at BBC is entirely different than anything I have ever experienced before, but I had a realization the other day that it’s an environment that has always existed in the church. It was first recorded in Acts 2:42-47, which says that the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowshiping, eating, and praying together. Acts also says that they were sharing everything with each other and giving generously to the believers in need. In awe and gladness, they praised God and worshiped Him with their words and deeds.

The students of BBC not only dedicate themselves to studying the Scriptures, but they are constantly sharing with and praying for each other. The fellowship here is beyond incredible! Everyone is so loving and friendly; it’s impossible to feel isolated. The Holy Spirit is active at Boise Bible College in an obvious way, and I am so blessed to be here.
