I will give you Peace! Week 2, Friday

“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests.” (Luke 2:14)

Jesus came to Bethlehem; today Jesus comes to us with an invitation and a promise. The invitation is to “Come to me all you who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Jesus gives life and peace to those who accept it. We do not deserve nor did we earn it, but life has come to us!

It is amazing because the only thing that has happened is that we see now from God’s perspective–we agree with God’s word to us, and anticipate the impossible from God.

The promise is this; those who respond to the call of Jesus become Christ followers. As Christ followers we hang together a log, study the scripture, learn to pray and as we use music to draw closer to Him in praise and worship, we become more and more sensitive to his voice. We listen for his voice every day. Jesus renews our heart and refreshes our spirit like no other!

May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Thessalonians 5:23)

Jesus, may your favor rest upon us as we seek to involve you in every aspect of our daily lives.

Share: Share a time with a friend when you were weary and burdened, but Christ renewed your heart by spending time with other believers.

Encourage: Encourage someone who you may know that is tired and weary to accept the peace He offers if we just lean into Him.

Inventory: If you are tired, weary, burdened, etc. when was the last time you invited God into your life to guide you through this season of your life.
