“Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away.” 1 Corinthians 13:8-10
This may seem a little strange, but I wrote this blog in poetry form. The Lord has really been putting it on my heart to be more vulnerable. Normally I keep my poetry to myself, in fact the last time I actually allowed people to see my poetry I was in sixth grade. However, today I am choosing to be vulnerable with all of you:
A definition of temporary is
something lasting for only a period of time.
It is something that has an end.
This world is temporary.
Time moves on.
I am a human.
I fail more than I like to admit.
I fail in my commitments.
I fail at being disciplined.
I fail at intentionally spending time with my Savior.
I fail at using every opportunity to share His love
I fail at loving like He does.
I fail at allowing Him to fill this void in my heart.
I fail at giving Him what He deserves.
I am an imperfect human.
The insufficiencies of my life will one day be sufficient.
The incompleteness in my thoughts of You will
one day be complete just as You are.
My imperfections will become perfect by Your perfection.
The partial will pass away with You.
These four phrases are repetitions of the same
song proclaiming Your perfection.
As humans we can only love so much.
In a temporary world where our love lacks
Yours abounds because Your love alone never ends.
The definition of never implies that at no time does it stop.
Not in the past, present, or future.
It is endless, unfailing, perfect, complete
sufficient, true, and powerful.
I am in awe.
My mind cannot fathom, yet my soul rejoices.
